Bourdon Tube Pressure Gauges are one of the most widely used mechanical instruments for measuring pressure in gases and liquids. They work on the principle that a curved or coiled metallic tube (the Bourdon tube) tends to straighten when subjected to internal pressure. As the pressure inside the tube increases, the tube deforms slightly, and this motion is transmitted through a linkage and gear mechanism to a pointer on a calibrated dial, providing a direct pressure reading.
These gauges are known for their simplicity, durability, and reliability, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. They can measure pressures from very low (vacuum) to extremely high values, often up to thousands of bar, depending on the tube design and material.
